Mammukka advised me to stay focused: Asif Ali

Asif Ali is one of those actors who had to extensively face the ire of social media in his career. But during those tough times, what kept him strong was the support extended by megastar Mammootty.

"I don't know how it happened, but he took a special interest and guided me when I was new in the industry," says Asif. "From then on, I took the freedom and initiative to build that relationship and in a lot of ways it has helped me."

Ask him how and Asif says, "I had gone through a phase in which people used to thrash me online for some of my movies. I was young and took it to the heart. One day I discussed it with Mammukka and he asked me to only focus on doing my job the best way possible and everything else would fall into place."
